This is a very good learning program for all kids of any kind. I learned a lot of stuff being in here and became good friends with many of the other students who are in it. And I even became great friends with the Project Director (Kim Ojeda). They talk to you about things like, What are your goals in 5 years, 10 years and so on. They help you with any problems you have and you can talk to them about anything and they'll keep it confidential. What I'm trying to say is that this program is great and I enjoy being in it and I will continue being in it until I'm 15 years of age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take Stock has been a real treat for me and my family! I even like my mentor (Kim Ojeda). She's a little weird but she's pretty cool! We talk about all kinds of stuff like my goals, what I want to be when I grow up, etc. My step-brother also has a scholarship and graduates this year! I now live in Tennessee my scholarship has been suspended until January when I get back. Christina Perry

Jody,

I am so impressed by the efforts of your group and the dedicated people from the community. I have been ill over the past few months and have been on a road to a great recovery and realize even more how much I would like to contribute to such a good cause. I've had mentors in my life...major ones, including my DAD, who made an impact on my success and on my continuing striving to learn more. The others were teachers and people who decided to mentor me; or who I asked them to mentor me!

One of the things I learned is not to expect too much of your mentors; however, you never know when one thing they say or one act they may convey in a positive way, can have a huge impact.

I guess the key thing is don't expect too much, but never assume the basics...you can be a HUGE influence...for the rest of someone's life!

I hope I can get involved and will be contacting you...

In the meantime, I wish you all the most success.

Best Regards,

Suzanne Batchelor

I work for CIS in Columbia, S. C. at Dent Middle School and E. L. Wright Middle School. I am very impressed with your web site and look forward to sharing ideas and success stories with you. I am presently setting up a FAST program (Families And Schools Together)at both of my sites which will gives families an opportunity to establish and maintain an open communication network with their student. The FAST program is based on families supporting families and building relationships with their students. I am very excited about this porgram and look forward to sharing its' successes.

Thanks for the opportunity to join your guestbook. CIS is a wonderful program and I do wish you success in your programs this year.

Sincerely,
